Over 15,000 inhabitants of Wrocław and Lower Silesia greatly enjoyed the massive open-air performance of the Wratislavia Cantans Festival. The ear-catching repertoire selected by Paul McCreesh, combined with an energetic rendition of the musicians definitely challenged the common preconceptions about classical music, and left the audience amazed by compositions of Verdi, Rossini or Moniuszko. Today in the St. Mary Madeleine’s Polish-Catholic Cathedral at 7 p.m., the outstanding mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink will perform together with the world-famous chamber ensemble Il Giardino Armonico, the conductor of which is the distinguished Giovanni Antonini. Dwa weekendowe koncerty Kronos Quartet okazały się wielkim sukcesem. Występy w świdnickim Kościele Pokoju i Filharmonii dzielił odmienny repertuar, ale łączył zachwyt publiczności.
